The Patchwork Tree story so far...

For a good few months now I've been receiving some amazing yarny patchwork panels from many MANY knitters and crocheters. Packages from as far away as Canada and the USA have been arriving on my doormat, as well as lots of local makers getting involved too.

How incredible to think that this beautiful patchwork tree covering has been made by so many kind people! Every person has taken time to sit with their crochet hook, knitting needles, and even a loom or 2, and contributed to this stunning work. The power of people together is truly wonderful!

Panels with flowers sewn on, panels with hearts, buttons, stripes, even a Canadian flag! There is no other tree covering like it in the whole world...

Sunday 8th May is the day Wendy and I will attach the patchwork to its new home- a tree in the Abbey Gardens in beautiful Bury St Edmunds- where it will hopefully be admired and help raise more money for our chosen charity Breast Cancer Now

We've raised £1,100 so far and are now hoping to push that up to £1,500. How great would that be, a load of money for a brilliant charity, all from yarn!!!

So come and find the Patchwork Tree if you can, give it a hug, have a good look at all the work and love that has gone into it, find your favourite panel!! If you can, please donate just a pound or 2 and help us reach our target at

Thank you so much!
